Liana Flores Philadelphia Concert reviews
The concert was excellent,
The concert was different in tone than ones we have attended in the past, but excellent. Some new interesting things and his big hits were included, along with some music I would not have expected from him. Nicely presented with good energy, well performed (lights, staging, banter, etc.), not the drab painted backdrop that seemed to have no relation to the show.
The only thing we did NOT like was the quite long "preshow" homage film. I actually like and respect Liana Flores and all she stands for. But this overly long film was surprisingly boring and not well written nor edited, with sometimes garbled audio. Seemed a bit fauning for something Liana Flores would include in her show. In the past, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the temporary, extensive exhibit devoted to her at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and have enjoyed seeing other documentary coverage on her, for instance on PBS. Was made worse by poor visibility as a result of being projected over/ through the stage platforms/ equipment and onto a painted backdrop that obscured the video at times, making it hard to see. Marred only by this long video, the concert was great.
